Getting started
How do I export my WhatsApp chat?
Open the chat in WhatsApp. On iPhone, tap the chat name, then Export Chat. On Android, tap the three dots, then More, then Export chat. Choose Without media. The upload page shows the steps.
Can I upload a zip file?
Yes. Upload the zip from iPhone as it is, or a .txt file from Android. Your phone or computer reads it. The file itself is not sent to us.
Which person am I?
After you choose a file, the app lists the people in the chat with their message counts. Pick the one that is you. Only your messages are checked for mistakes.
Why is my chat still being analysed?
Reading a chat takes a few minutes. You can close the page and come back. Your chat will be in the list on the home page when it is ready.
Why were only some of my messages checked?
Each plan checks a number of your messages each month (see the Pricing page). When an upload has more new messages than you have left, we check your newest ones. Upload the chat again next month to check more. Messages that were already checked are skipped and do not count.
Your chats
Can I add more chats?
Yes. Use Upload a chat on the home page. Choose a new chat, or add to one you already have. You can have up to 5 chats of your own.
Can I share a chat?
The owner of a chat can invite up to 5 people by email in the chat settings. They sign in with Google or with that email address. They can see all of that chat, practice it and add more messages.
How do I delete a chat?
Open the chat, go to its settings and choose Delete chat. Everything made from it is removed, including voice clips. If a chat was shared with you, you can leave it in the same place.
Learning
What do the colors mean?
Red marks the words that were wrong in your message. Green marks the words that were added or changed in the correct version.
What is a habit?
A habit is a mistake you make again and again, like forgetting "to" after "need". Learn the rule on the habit page, then practice it.
How does practice work?
You see a message you wrote and try to fix it. Then you check the answer and choose Again, Good or Easy. Again brings the card back soon. Good and Easy push it further away: 1, 3, 7, 14 and then 30 days.
When is a card learned?
A card counts as learned after you answer it correctly a few times in a row on different days.
Which languages are the explanations in?
For now, explanations come in Brazilian Portuguese and English. More languages are coming soon. In Settings, you can choose to see Both, Português or English.
The AI marked something that is not a mistake.
Open the menu on the card (the three dots) and choose "Hide, this is not a mistake". It will not show again.
Other
The audio does not play.
Check that your phone is not on silent mode, then tap play again. The first time a sentence plays it can take a few seconds.
I cannot see my chats.
Chats only open when you sign in here with Google or with a link sent to your email. Sign out in Settings, then sign in again. If a chat was shared with you, use the same email the owner invited.
How do I install the app on my iPhone?
Open the app in Safari, tap the Share button, then "Add to Home Screen".
